Successful applicant will work under the direction of the Board of Trustees. The individual must have a college degree and experience with Quikbooks. The Treasurer assists in the planning and monitoring of the annual budget, routine municipal book-keeping, payroll handling, civil service reporting and assisting with the Annual Financial Statement.
The responsibilities of the position include:
• As Chief Fiscal Officer, maintain custody of all village funds and maintain accounts and expenditures in accordance with the uniform system of accounts as prescribed the NYS Comptroller.
• Treasurer is responsible for depositing village funds in banks designated by the Board of Trustees.
• Treasurer will provide monthly reports to the Board of Trustees.
•Assign support administrative duties to staff, ensuring that tasks are performed effectively and efficiently. The treasurer identifies best practices in accounting for the benefit of the Village; and reviews compliance with procurement code, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
• Treasurer will be one of the authorized signatories for checks of the Village and pays out village funds, subject to procedure and village law.
•Develop recommendations for the implementation of improvements in Village policies, procedures, operations, and programs.
•Conducting oral presentations to elected officials, employees, and the public.
•Performing any other such duties as may be assigned by the Mayor or Board.
